If you are newly licensed, the chance for you to get a professional designation is slim since most of the designations will require holders to have at least five years experience in real estate. However, there are also advantages in getting a professional designation: Professional designation is a kind of recognition in the field. This is why normally you have to have a minimum accredited experience to apply. They are specialized. Many associations provide education that are not available in universities and colleges, which may be essential for you to practice in a particular sector. Associations are good places for networking. As all the members of the association are specialized in the same field, it is much easier for them to share information (such as listings) and co-operate in many aspects.
